Ribbed dome canopy | Baluster columns | Brass chain bells | Three-drawer base | Wall-mount
Ratna is a jewel and it carries that quality in the warmth of its proportions and the care of its making. A wide ribbed dome canopy, drawn from the curved cornices of South Indian mandapam, forms the crown: its fluted surface catching the light in a way that marble alone achieves.
Below the canopy, two ornately turned baluster columns carry the structure. From these hang two small brass temple bells on fine chains their gentle sound the mark of worship beginning and ending. The inner sanctum is wide, open, and entirely unenclosed: space offered as the sacred container, the deity at the centre of an expanse of white.
Three drawers at the base, fitted with round brass knobs, complete the design in the most practical sense. Ratna can be wall-mounted or placed on any surface it asks for no dedicated puja room, only a place of intention. The ribbed dome, the turned columns, the hanging bells together they give this piece a warmth and immediacy that make it feel, from the first moment, entirely at home in whatever sacred corner it inhabits.
